Most every modern retail storefront is a combination of exposed masonry, painted EIFS, and canvas awnings. like any other building these surfaces are not immune to the build up of mildew, pollen, dirt daubers, and cobwebs. All of those contaminants are psychologically associated with “neglect” in the eyes of the modern consumer.     The Nitty Gritty Details of Retail Storefront Pressure Washing

    Can you clean canvas awnings?
    Yes, our preferred method of canvas awning cleaning involves a step ladder, an extension pole, a soft bristle car brush, a light mildewcide detergent, and low pressure washing. Our process ensures that the canvas awnings have a uniform and not streaky appearance after they are cleaned and are not damaged or stretched by high pressure water.

    Can you prevent water from entering the units?
    Yes, we typically operate under the assumption that door and window seals are intact and functional that said, upon request, we can berm off doors and entry areas where there are suspected gaps in the weather stripping.

    How often should retail storefront facades be cleaned?
    On average, the typical retail center has their customer facing facades cleaned every other year, and the “back of house” facades cleaned slightly less frequently. There are many centers that have their facades and awnings cleaned annually and sometimes even more frequently. We pride ourselves in the ability to create a tailored exterior cleaning rotation based on the assets on site and the budget of the property.

    What if there are residential units above the retail?
    Units above retail establishments are best cleaned between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 am. Completing the work prior to 6:00 am generally results in complaints from residents, and completing work much after 10:00 am generates issues for tenants during normal business hours.
    We are not responsible for all facades of all buildings, what is the best way to keep track of those nuances?
    For all properties that we service on a recurring cadence, we maintain an “Asset and Schedule Map” where information such as exterior maintenance responsibility, water access, work time restriction zones, parking, and property measurements are clearly delineated.

    Is it safe to clean facades behind lighted signs?
    Yes, when properly installed and maintained those lighted signs are weather proof and our soft wash cleaning process does not compromise the functionality of those assets.

    Will it save me money to get the buildings cleaned at the same time you do the concrete?
    Yes, there are major operational efficiencies associated with cleaning all possible assets in a single area when our trucks, our technicians, and our equipment is set up there.

    Are your rates consistent across geographic markets?
    Yes, with our large market share, we have a high degree of route density. When we send a crew out for a week of work. Our travel costs are more than offset by the savings of not having a brick and mortar warehouse in every market we serve.
